We used to list every animal that had been adopted. Happily enough, there are really too many to list now - so we are focusing here on the animals who's new family has been kind enough to provide us with updates and pictures (which we love), to give you a true idea of what happens when you adopt a stray. If you have adopted from ARF and would like to see your success story, we'd love to hear from you!

Meet Magic

When ARF first got Magic (then, named Midnight), this is all we knew...
Midnight was found in Northeast Jackson on a busy street. A good Samaritan saw Midnight get hit by a car and stopped to help him. Midnight was not badly injured, and quickly recuperated and was trotting around the backyard of the vet clinic winning the hearts of all the assistants who handle the rescues.

He is a very sweet dog, and is quickly learning basic commands. He has been at the vets offices for a few months and is getting depressed over not having a family. He offers up love and kisses to everyone who stops to give him a little tickle.

He plays well with the other dogs at the clinic and has shown no problem with being around other dogs.

Magic's new family!
ARF gave Magic all the medical care he needed - including shots and neutering. That's not cheap, y'all. However he was such a good boy and was tugging at some heartstrings - he was becoming depressed in the clinic he was being housed in, and was in desperate need for a loving home.

That's when Taylor's mom saw his picture online. A state away, Taylor and her mom agreed they had to give this handsome rescued boy a good home. They fell in love and made transport arrangements.

Here's how Magic is doing now...
Meet Magic's rescuer - Taylor (and her family, of course).

(From Magic and Taylor's mom:)

"He is a nut. He is getting more and more energy every day and starting to put on some much needed weight."

"Did you know Magic LOVES Krispy Kremes? Thats right. I made the mistake of leaving half a box on the counter when I went to the gym and when I came home the box was laying upside down on the floor and it was EMPTY. Little bugger ate my KK's."

"He sleeps at Taylor's side each night. And won't leave the room until she gets up. Each morning she makes herself late by playing with him instead of getting ready for school. And when she goes to the bus stop? I have to hold him so she can get out the door. He runs from the front door (glass) to the window and back with his ears up like "where is she going? Wait come back" Then he lays down on the floor once the bus has taken her away and puts his head on his paws and looks up at me all pitiful like."

Soooo Magic went from a scared, injured stray on the streets of Jackson, fighting for survival, to a happy, loved dog stealing Krispy Kremes (yeah, we know - working on that) off the kitchen counter and anxiously awaiting his beloved Taylor - his rescuer - to return from school each day.

This is what happens when you bring a stray into your life. You are not complicating the problem of too many dogs and not enough owners, you are helping. And you and your entire family are gaining a true friend for life.

Here's to Taylor, Magic, their mom and dad, and the true magic of Krispy Kremes, which can never be denied.
